Now that the holidays are over, many of begun to think about summer time, and the family vacation that they are planning to take. If you are one of these families, you will probably be joining the search for an affordable car rental. Here are some helpful tips, to get you on your way.
1. Sign up as a frequent traveler with the company. By doing this they will take your e-mail address and will send you discounts and reminders of promotions they are having. And don\’t just limit this to your favorite one or two companies. Many times other companies will honor discounts and other offers of their competitors so be sure to ask when you reserve a car.
2. Search the internet for any coupons and discounts. There are many discounts offered through various coupon sites and informational web pages. Then even have special sites that deal with nothing but promotional codes for various companies.
3. Do a search on discount travel sites. Websites, such as Expedia, Orbitz, and Travelocity, often offer the best deals available, although it would be wise to check with the actual company before booking to make sure that you are really receiving the best possible offer.
4. Be flexible. This is the key to truly getting any type of travel discounts. The more you can shift things around the better deals you can find. Keep in mind that many car rental companies actually charge you less if you take the vehicle for longer. Weekend and week long rentals tend to be the best overall deals.
5. Always rent a car that is one grade lower then what you are looking for. For example, if you are wanting to rent a luxury car, instead of paying the extra money reserve a mid size vehicle. When you go to pick up your rental, you can then ask if they could upgrade you to a luxury. Many car rental companies will then offer you the upgrade for only a few dollars extra, as that will give them more money for a car that would not have even been rented.
Cheap flights are easy to find now at Expedia.com. International flights can get to be expensive, but with the right company, like Expedia, you can find amazing discounts.
